Privacy Policy — Hadits Sahih

Last updated: 28 Agustus 2026

This page covers only the Hadits Sahih Android app (id.imajiedu.hadits). The short version: it collects no data about you, requests no permissions, and never connects to the internet. Everything below is the detail behind that sentence — including the one route by which anything can leave your device.

No data is collected

There are no accounts, no sign-up, and no login. The app contains no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no third-party tracker of any kind.

We do not know who you are, which hadith you read, how long you read for, or even that you installed the app at all — beyond the aggregate install counts Google Play shows every developer.

The app never connects to the internet

The entire contents — 31,884 hadith with their Arabic, translations, and scholarly gradings — are already inside the application file. There is nothing to download, and nothing is sent anywhere.

This is not merely a promise. The app does not request the INTERNET permission, so Android itself would refuse any connection attempt, even if some code tried to make one.

Permissions requested: none

The app requests no permissions whatsoever. Not location, not contacts, not camera, not microphone, not storage, not notifications, and not internet.

You can verify this yourself: Settings → Apps → Hadits Sahih → Permissions. The list is empty.

What is stored on your device

The app stores exactly four things, all of them your own preferences: your chosen translation language (Indonesian or English), the Arabic text size, whether translations are shown, and the list of hadith you have saved.

Saved hadith are recorded only as short references — “bukhari/1”, for example — never as text, notes, or anything you have written yourself.

All of it lives in the app's private storage on your device. No other app can read it, and neither can we. Uninstalling the app deletes it.

The one way data can leave your device

The app allows Android Auto Backup. That means the four preferences above may be copied to YOUR OWN Google Drive, so that your saved hadith come back when you change phones or reinstall.

That data goes to your Drive, not to us. We have no access to it, cannot request it, and never see it. The process runs between your device and Google, and is governed by Google's privacy policy.

If you would rather it did not happen, turn it off under Settings → Google → Backup, or disable backup for this app specifically. The app works fully without it; the only loss is that your preferences will not return after a reinstall.

We state this openly because it is the only data flow that exists, and because most apps do not mention it at all.

Children

The app collects no data from anyone, and therefore none from children. There is no user-generated content, no messaging, no outbound links, and no advertising.

Deleting your data

Since we hold no data of yours, there is nothing to request the deletion of. To clear the on-device preferences: Settings → Apps → Hadits Sahih → Storage → Clear data, or simply uninstall the app.

To remove the backup copy from your Drive, use Settings → Google → Backup on your device.

Where the text comes from

Not a privacy matter, but worth stating. The Arabic text, translations, and scholarly gradings come from fawazahmed0/hadith-api, released into the public domain under the Unlicense, and are bundled whole into the app. The details, including the limitations we know of, are in the app's About screen.

Changes to this policy

If the app's behaviour changes — if it ever needs a permission or a network connection, for instance — this page is updated first, and the date above changes with it. As long as that date is unchanged, this page still describes the app exactly as it is.
